RESENA HISTORICA:

La Asociación y Galeria Pop Wuj se fundo en el ano 2001, cuando se implementaron diferente actividades con ninos y jovenes, rescatando y promoviendo el arte. Su ubicación se encuentra al lado sur de Chichicastenango, que conduce al centro Ceremonial Pascual Abaj. Esta semilla surge a través de los fundadores: Don Miguel León Ignacio y Doctor Hans Guggenheim.

MISION:

Somos una asociacion que promueve el rescate, fortalecimiento y enrequecimiento de nuestra identidad cultural y artistica, a través de talleres, exposiciones de pintura, conferencias, cursos y otros, para concientizar a niños, jóvenes y la población en general, de la riqueza cultural maya. Buscamos a recuperar el conocimiento y la sabiduria de nuestra filosofia e identidad maya.

VISION:

Es una asociación auto-sostenible que cuenta con una galeria de arte equipado que brinda formación permanente a niños y jóvenes, resaltando los talentos artística y cultural, desde la filosofía maya.

DISPOSICIONES GENERALES

La Asociación es una entidad privada con fines sociales y culturales. Es apolitica, no religiosa y no lucrativa.

OBJETIVO GENERAL:

Promover las variedades artísticas y culturales en sus diversas manifestaciones.

Impulsar la cultura maya a traves de diferentes propuestas artísticas y culturales.

Desarrollar el arte y cultura maya a traves de la pintura, artesanía, ceramica y escultura entre otros.

HISTORICAL REVIEW:

The Pop Wuj Association and Gallery was founded in 2001, when different activities were implemented with children and young people, rescuing and promoting art. We seek to recover the knowledge and wisdom of our Mayan philosophy and identity.

VISION:

It is a self-sustaining association that has an equipped art gallery that provides ongoing training to children and young people, highlighting artistic and cultural talents, based on Mayan philosophy.

GENERAL DISPOSITION

The Association is a private entity with social and cultural purposes. It is apolitical, non-religious and non-profit.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:

Promote artistic and cultural varieties in their various manifestations. Promote Mayan culture through different artistic and cultural proposals. Develop Mayan art and culture through painting, crafts, ceramics and sculpture among others.
